My hobbies include Reading, walking, cleaning and spending quality time with my family.
One interesting fact about me is that I am a trained Otago instructor. I arrange and run the Otago classes here at the Day Centre. (If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it) As Abraham Lincoln once said – its not the years in your life that count, it is the life in your years.
What my job means to me…….
It is not just my job I love; it is the people I care for and those I help, support, advise and signpost that gives me the greatest satisfaction, learning from others and just being there for others.

Hi, my name is Sue Clarke. I am the hairdresser at The Newmarket Day Centre. This means that I do all you lovely ladies and gents’ hair. I also help the rest of the team wherever I can.

Hi, my name is Leigh Stephenson. I am the at The Administration and Publicity Co-ordinator at The Newmarket Day Centre. This means that I look after all our clients accounts, send out invoices, make the magazines and organise publicity events.
My hobbies include Sewing, Walking and the Theatre.
One interesting fact about me is that for 30 years I worked backstage in theatres up and down the country.
What my job means to me…….
It is the chance to combine my admin and organisational skills with opportunity to see daylight each day – not something that happens when you work in the Theatre.

Hi, my name is Laura Evans. I am the Kitchen Manager at The Newmarket Day Centre. This means that I am responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen.
My hobbies include reading my Kindle, cooking and most importantly, looking after my fiancé, his 2 teenagers and our dog.
One interesting fact about me is that after struggling with my own mental health for 20+ years, I am now trained as the mental health champion at The Day Centre.
What my job means to me…….
This being a new role in a new venture is very exciting for me. It is a new challenge and I still get to work with the team that I have grown to love as well as the clients that all hold a special place in my heart.

Life is like a marshmallow.
I am the Kitchen assistant at The Newmarket Day Centre. This means that I am responsible for the preparation of sandwiches and salads. Cleaning and washing dishes and assisting with anything else requested of me.
My hobbies include decorating, bike rides, walking and just spending time with my 5 children.
One interesting fact about me is that I am a good mum and a reliable member of the team.

I get the chance to meet new people and I love to watch the clients enjoy their time at The Day Centre. I also enjoy the unpredictability that each day brings.
