Overview

We’re looking for a compassionate, energetic Support Worker to join our team and help deliver meaningful support and assistance to the older community. The role involves supporting clients , ensuring their safety, and promoting their well-being. Candidates should possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives and be committed to delivering high-quality support. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with daily tasks, including assistance with toileting and bathing.
• Help plan and deliver engaging daily activities and special events.
• Lead, organise and book entertainers to enhance our activity programme.
• Welcome clients, volunteers, and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
• Assist with volunteer induction and ongoing support.
• Maintain accurate records and follow organisational policies and procedures.
• Promote the Centre within the community and support fundraising events.
• Work flexibly across other services as required.
• Manage behaviour effectively, especially in clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
• Respond promptly to emergencies.
• Support clients with activities to promote independence and dignity.

Experience

• Prior experience in a day centre settings, or home care is preferred.
• Certification or training in first aid is advantageous.
• Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy.
