Black and White Ball

On Thursday 20th June we held a Black and White Ball Event Day. Many people dressed to impress in their “best bib + tucker” and came along to join in the fun and games, enjoy a lovely lunch and listen to some fantastic entertainment.

Las Vegas Day + Easter Lunch

Here are pictures of us all enjoying two more of our event days. We have a lovely time on our trip to Las Vegas, with some of us feeling lucky enough to try our hand at roulette while enjoying the dulcet tones voice of Michael Anthony. We celebrated Easter with fun and laughter and a smashing lunch.

Valentine's Day - Themed Event Day

Valentine's Day had everyone sharing the love! The staff made a beautiful heart tree for clients to hang messages of love and we had a fantastic meal and listened to some great music from Kyle Charter.

Christmas week celebrations 2017

Every year we hold our Christmas celebration week. The week is packed full of Christmas lunches, plenty of wine & spirits, music and entertainment and much joy and laughter. Members of local businesses, including many from our local police force, came to support and help us serve lunches and to join in the fun and games. Even Santa came to entertain us along with the children from the local Clip Clop Day Nursery. Christmas is truly a magical time here at the Day Centre.

Visit from Dame Mary Berry Bakewell

On Monday 4th December, Newmarket Day Centre had an impromptu visit by the effervescent and well-loved Dame Mary Berry Bakewell.

Dame Mary Berry Bakewell alias Terry Gauci, made a surprise visit to entertain our Clients between rehearsals for his role in the Pantomime Beauty and the Beast, showing at The Maltings in Ely. Dame Mary gave us all a demonstration on how to bake a cake OR NOT as it turned out! Some very messy cheeky fun and banter ensued.

Horrendous Halloween Themed Event Day

It was more hilarious than horrendous. Everyone entered into the spirit of the occasion and we had some ghostly or ghastly apparitions going on at the Day Centre but it didn’t stop the laughter and fun. Even the Gruesome Twosome Zombies didn’t scare anyone – what everyone didn’t know was, they weren’t wearing any make-up!
