Raising the money we need to support older people to maintain their independence.

How do we raise the money needed?

The Trustee Board, Management Committee and Members of Staff strive each year to raise the ever increasing sum of money required to maintain and improve the quality of services provided and to meet the increase in demand.

What we do…..

‘In House’ activities – are ongoing activities organised by members of staff and volunteers that are run in the Day Centre and supported by older people and friends who use or visit the centre. Activities include events, donations, raffles, items for sale and so many more and all the money raised from these initiatives are used towards daily running costs.

The ‘Friends of Newmarket Day Centre’ - is a group of local people who organise and run much larger events in the local community. Events include a Bridge Evening, local cricket match, a picnic at the races. Money raised from these events is used to replace larger capital items e.g. in 2013 money is being raised to a replace one of the mini buses used to transport frailer older people to and from the day centre each day.

What else we do…..

We raise money through Public Appeals, large external raffles, requests for donations to businesses etc. and applications to Trust Giving Charities to support new initiatives and service development.
